Tik Tok finally rolled out its question and answer feature to everyone. I know you must have seen it on some accounts on Tik Tok. It was still being tested then and was only available to a few popular verified accounts on Tik Tok.
With this feature, Tik Tok is looking to facilitate engagement and communication between creators and their followers.
What is Tik Tok Q & A about?
Tik Tok explained “In videos, users will be able to designate their comments as Q&A questions which are then labeled as questions in the comment section. This makes it easy for a creator to quickly identify and answer questions identify and answer questions in their videos’ comments”.
Tik Tok users can ask questions via a button in the comments section of a creator’s video thus enabling the creator to respond to the question in the replies or via another video. Creators can also add stickers to signify they are responding to a particular question in the newly created video consequently linking back to the old one where the question was first asked.
There is also a new Q&A section where all previously asked questions that have been replied to are listed linking back to the original content. This feature is also available in live streams.
How to Use Tik Tok’s Q&A Feature
As earlier stated, this feature was only available to popular accounts; ones with more than 10,000 followers. Tik Tok just made the feature available to all creator account and here’s how to enable it;
- Update the Tik Tok app on your device and open it.
- Navigate to your profile page and tap on the ellipsis menu (three dots) at the top right corner.
- Under the Settings page, select “Privacy” > ”Creator”.
- Choose “Q&A” > “Turn On Q&A”. Your followers can then submit questions which in turn you can now answer either via words or a video.
How to Ask Questions On a Creator’s Account that has Q&A Enabled
On the creator’s post where you want to drop the question, just close to the “Add comment” box locate a new box with a question mark icon. Tap on it, type in your question, and submit it.
